How did I become a piano tuner in 2003?

A friend who knew I taught piano suggested that I buy a tuning business from a technician he knew. I said he could inquire into it for me, but the business ended up already being sold off. A minute or two after he informed me of this, someone who knew me as a piano player (hadn’t seen each other in nine or so years) just walked up and asked if I was still into piano. This individual said he knew a fellow looking for people to teach piano tuning to. Shortly thereafter I made inquiry into that, calling from my piano sales job workplace. It turned out this course was starting that same evening.
